Lighting, Fixtures & Basic Electrical Repairs

Solid Home Repair provides lighting, fixture installation, and basic electrical repair services throughout the Birmingham area. We handle common electrical projects and upgrades for both newer and older homes, including troubleshooting and replacing existing fixtures and components.

 

Services include light fixture installation and replacement, ceiling fans, switches, outlets, GFCI outlets, exterior and porch lighting, video doorbells, smart home devices, and other basic electrical repairs and installations.

 

We also have experience working with older homes where existing electrical boxes, wiring, mounting locations, and previous modifications may require additional troubleshooting or adjustments to safely complete an installation.

Basic HVAC Maintenance

Solid Home Repair also provides basic HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting, including thermostat replacement, condensate drain cleaning, capacitor replacement, exterior A/C line insulation, basic system troubleshooting, and other minor HVAC maintenance and repairs.

 

Solid Home Repair provides basic electrical and HVAC repairs, maintenance, troubleshooting, and component replacement. Work requiring a licensed electrical or HVAC contractor, major system repairs, refrigerant service, new circuits, panel work, or system replacement is outside our scope of services.

Labor and Estimates

General stand-alone labor rate: $75/hour

 

For estimated projects, labor is typically bundled based on the overall scope of work, which can help reduce the total cost compared with pricing each individual task separately. Payments made by cash or check will also reflect a lower total since no digital payment processing fee applies.

Licensed and Insured

Solid Home Repair is a licensed and insured home repair and maintenance business serving the Birmingham area. We take care when working in your home and focus on providing reliable, professional repairs while respecting your property and living space.

 

When an estimate is sent through our estimating software, a copy of our business license, proof of insurance, and W-9 will be attached for your records.

 

We accept cash, check, credit and debit cards, ACH bank transfers, and Zelle. 3% CC fee applies to digital payments.
